Rico Schinkel

I was born in Germany and began my tattooing career in Rostock. My passion for H.R. Giger’s work, particularly his biomechanical art, has been a significant influence on my journey. I was first introduced to this style through the Alien franchise. Initially, I focused on creating tattoo replicas of Giger's iconic creatures, but after extensive study, I developed my own distinct approach to biomechanical design. I consider Rostock to be one of the most Giger-influenced cities in the world, as the majority of my work there was dedicated to biomechanical tattoos.

When I relocated to Norway, where biomechanical art was relatively unfamiliar, I had the opportunity to broaden my portfolio by exploring other styles such as realism and black-and-gray. Today, I am proficient in a wide range of tattoo styles, and I specialize in working freehand. I believe each body is unique, and it is crucial to respect the natural flow and movement of the muscles when designing a tattoo that complements the client's individual form.

Throughout my career, I have had the honor of participating in and receiving special invitations to numerous tattoo conventions, where I have been recognized with multiple awards for my work.

In addition to my tattooing expertise, I am also an accomplished airbrush artist. My work includes various projects on canvas, as well as on cars, motorcycles, and two large wall paintings in Tønsberg. I am particularly passionate about portrait painting and have completed several commissioned portraits. In 2017, I held a solo exhibition at Galleri Arctandria in Oslo, showcasing a series of portraits.
